HW Martin deliver specialist public and private works contracts for transport infrastructure in the UK, in this instance working alongside Highways England. HW Martin are working on a major bridge replacement project on the M67, a major motorway in Manchester, England. The project involves the closure of the hard shoulder along stretches of roadworks and therefore free rescue assistance must be provided to stranded vehicles.

The specialist trained team in the RVRC live monitor the cameras 24/7, understanding the flow of traffic at busy periods and monitor for anomalies. The team raise the alert when traffic begins to slow and identify and locate any stranded vehicles needing recovery.
Additionally, the VPS delivery team work closely with the HW Martin team as the works move along the project. The VPS engineers will attend site every 6-8 months to redeploy and setup the cameras to the new worksite. The engineers work closely with the team to recommend best placement to ensure full coverage but also to maximise the solar panels. The towers have batteries that provide cover for time without solar coverage, these are monitored remotely with the team attending site twice a week during winter months and once a week in summer months, assuming good weather!
